Labour’s St George Central Candidates:

Steve and Nicola are standing to be re-elected on May 6th on a clear record of campaigning and delivery for St George Central.

Councillor Nicola Beech

(Cabinet Member for Spatial Planning and City Design)

Bio:

Nicola has represented St George Central since 2016. As a local resident raising her young family here Nicola has the hands on experience of the best bits and the challenges living in St George presents. Since being elected Nicola has campaigned hard for improved community facilities in St George and secured the investment to double the size of Meadowvale community centre. Making our streets safer for all ages is something Nicola also cares hugely about and has secured funding to slow traffic down and prevent rat running on Hillside Road. Nicola is now supporting the community to do the same on Rodney Road and also Soundwell Road.

Councillor Steve Pearce

(Cabinet Member for Waste and Regulatory Services)

Bio:

Steve was first elected in St George in 2013 and has represented the ward since. Steve is passionate about sustainable travel and over the years has worked hard to support increased bus capacity and usage across the area. Since 2019 Steve has also held the Waste portfolio and led Bristol’s #cleanstreets campaign. Tackling tagging, fly tipping and littering has been a cornerstone of Steve’s work making Bristol a measurably cleaner place.
