Southville
Labour’s Southville Candidates:
Lisa Durston
Bio:
Lisa has lived in Southville for 13 years and and works for a local charity. She’s long been involved with the local community through local schools’ reading programmes, the PTA and volunteering with a local befriending service, supporting those isolated by the pandemic. At the weekends, Lisa can be found running in the green spaces of South Bristol or visiting the local high streets and markets. Lisa is standing for council to represent local residents on the issues that matter to them: Climate change, inequality and building a sustainable recovery from Covid-19.
Tom Phipps
Bio:
Tom moved to Southville last year and is active within the local community, he lives locally with his partner and works as a communications manager. I’m active within our local community, having delivered food parcels during the pandemic, volunteered at our local vaccine centre and been involved in the Liveable Neighbourhoods group campaigning for safer streets that promote walking/cycling. In usual times, Tom is a regular visitor to Ashton Gate to watch Bristol City and can often be found on North Street or East Street at the weekend.
Tom: I’m standing for council because I love living in this part of the city and want to help tackle inequality, take action on the climate emergency and support the great local businesses we have here in Southville.
