Eileen and Joe are both experienced former councillors, committed to tackling the huge challenges we face today like the climate emergency, housing crisis and inequality in Bristol.
Eileen Means
Bio:
While Eileen was a councillor in Bristol, she led a successful campaign to keep the local library open and helped resettle refugees in Bristol and get older people’s voices heard. Over the last few years, she was a leading voice in Bristol for a People’s Vote and chaired Bristol for Europe. Now, she is working with local MP Thangam Debbonaire on tackling the cladding scandal in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy.
Joe Rayment
Bio:
Joe was previously a councillor in Bath, and he led successful campaigns to resettle Syrian refugees, tackle pay inequality at the university, stop a school from using its admissions policy to exclude children from deprived areas, provide universal period products in schools, exempt care leavers from council tax, ban the badger cull on council land, and oppose the expansion of Bristol airport
Eileen and Joe have already got to work on campaigning for cleaner air and safer streets in Bishopston and Ashley Down. Together, they make a formidable team who will be a strong voice for the ward on Bristol City Council.
