Councillor Don Alexander

Bio:

Don Alexander has been a councillor for the ward for five years. He’s a resident of Sea Mills who spends most of his spare time on his two allotments. He has a reputation for responding very speedily to residents’ communications. For the last two years he has been a Chair of Planning and a Director of the council’s housing company, Goram Homes; which fits well with the ward’s main priority – affordable housing.

Daphne Chikwere

Bio:

Daphne Chikwere has lived in Avonmouth & Lawrence Weston, including surrounding areas of Bristol for over 12 years.

She has been a Labour Councillor candidate since 2019 and hopes to bring strengths to Health & Social care, equalities, safer communities, young people, and families if elected.

Daphne has worked with the NHS for the past 3 years and currently rounding up a Nursing degree. She is passionate about public health with keen interests in the well-being of ALW residents through involvement in mass COVID vaccinations, mental health programmes and obesity-decline drive. In her free time, Daphne loves to sing/dance, ‘bookworm,’ volunteer and spend time with family/friends.

Matthew Palmer

Bio:

Matt Palmer works as a courier and knows this area well. He is an experienced town councillor so both understands the importance of strong communities and can hit the ground running.
