After building strong ties with other Core Cities, and making Bristol’s case to Government Ministers behind closed doors, Marvin Rees, the Mayor of Bristol, has called for a Rally for Bristol for Saturday 9 September.

This rally, ahead of presenting a Core Cities’ Green Paper to Parliament on 12 September, held jointly with local trade unions, community groups, and activists will amplify Marvin’s call for investment in our city and an end to austerity.

On his recent visit to Bristol, Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Labour Party met with Marvin, and backed this important Green Paper.

As things stand, Bristol Council faces a funding gap of more than £100 million over the next five years, having already been hit by more than £170 million of cuts since 2010.

There is an alternative to austerity.

Join Marvin and your local Labour councillors on 9 September at 12 noon on College Green, and help make Bristol’s voice heard.
